Assessment Introduction

The assessment of this project will include both quantitative and qualitative data and will focus on the following four key questions:

  • How effectively does the training and accompanying resource materials promote teachers’ increased ecological knowledge, skills, and confidence to provide improved, applied science inquiry instruction at their schools?
  • To what extent does the use of modeling activities enhance participants’ understanding about ecosystems and complexity?
  • How effective were the native language (Spanish) materials, coupled with a compelling field project, at increasing Hispanic students’ level of interest in science?
  • How effective are the training manual and training program for the Professional Development Providers to use in delivering their own effective teacher training?
